Psycho's Quiz

1. Hi! What's your real name and nickname?

Sarah Wolfe. Though if you've been keeping up with this guy's page here you'd know that. And most people in the pack call me 'pup'...

2. Interesting...What's your current age?

31

3. Uh huh. What's your favourite food?

Steak. Though recently it's changed from medium to Rare.

4. And your favourite drinks?

Water mostly. I do have coffee sometimes but very rarely.

5. Confession time! Who's your crush/lover?

Am I allowed to say this here?

Yellow-Killer: No!

6. Aww! Have you two kissed yet?

Sorry. It seems my creator has forced me to put a 'no comment' here.

7. Classic question! What's your favourite color?

Blue I suppose... No real reason.

8. Who's your favourite author?

Dan Brown. That guy is amazing.

9. Now what's your biggest fear?

Being tortured.

10. *stifles a giggle* I'm not laughing *bursts out laughing*

That's not funny! I could kill you right now and they would not charge me.

11. Sorry. Who's your hero?

I'd have to say it's a toss up between Solid Snake/Big Boss or Sam Fisher. I don't know, both are very good at what they do and I can relate to them very easily.

12. Ok, who is your worst enemy?

Cynthia. She's a real bitch and i think she's out to deliberately ruin or kill me.

13. What would you do if your hero and your worst enemy got together?

Cynthia would get shot in the face, her neck snapped and possibly blown to smithereens.

14. Interesting...What would you do if you met your creator?

For starters punch him in the face for all the crap he's put me through. Sometimes i wonder why i even signed on to do this job.

15. Okay, I'll contact them right now. Done! Now, what do you want to be when you grow up?

... Were you listening to me? I told you, I'm 31. I'm ALREADY a grown up!

16. What's your worst nightmare?

About the same as my worst fear only with no chance of escape.

17. What's your lifelong dream?

Haven't really thought about it. Though if I had to guess, I'd say finally mending that gap between humans and supernaturals.

18. What would you do if your lifelong dream came true?

No friggen clue. Seriously, i got nothing here.

19. Ok, where's your favourite place to relax?

Recently? Being in a forest. It's just so calming.

20. Last question! What do you spend most of your time doing?

Lately? Practicing CQC and combat in wolf form or my Hybrid form.

21. We're done! Now tag whoever the hell you want.

No thanks.

Consider this a meme. It's really simple. (also, not sure if anyone has done this ahead of me but whatever)

The Rules:

1) State your top 5 favorite games
2) state why. could be anything. best plot, music, action scenes, humor, whatever. also, it doesn't have to be in order so if you've got a tie for favorite game, go ahead and add both.
3) tag whoever you want.

-------------------------

1) Any of the Command and Conquer games.

Why: It's THE best Real time strategy game I've ever played. take any from that series and i love it. the music is excellent. the full motion videos are excellent. game play is excellent and really easy to get into. The graphics range from 'I've seen better' to excellent with the more modern ones. not to mention that the later games also have some really good voice acting with a lot of good lines. everything from awesome one liners to hilarious lines. Not to mention that the games are often unpredictable in what the campaign is gonna throw at you. And the fact that you can play as any side in the conflict (each side also has its own unique perspective too) helps a lot too.

2) Any Metal Gear Solid game.

Why: Well... if you've been paying attention to Midnight Cobra, do i REALLY have to answer that? i do? all right. all i can say is one word to sum up the whole series. AWSOMETASTIC. Everything is amazing about that game. there was even one cut scene in the games that actually made me shead a tear. and i don't normally do that. (cookies to those that can figure it out) the graphics range from good to amazing and well... check this video.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=d8ptKV…

...

YOU FIGHT IN A GIANT MECH AGAINST ANOTHER MECH!!! SERIOUSLY. IF THAT'S NOT AWSOME, I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS.

So... why isn't this higher up in my list? Well, for one, i haven't played MGS4. OR Portable Ops for the PSP. maybe if i did that, it'd iron out some of the plot holes that i have. wiki and the Metal Gear wiki can only do so much. also, the solder's AI (or lack thereof) also makes me facepalm more then once. Though, i must say, the fourth wall breaking humor brings it up a fair deal to give it the solid #2 slot on my favorite games.

3) Any of the Ace Combat games

Why: Ahhh Ace Combat. it's where i got my original user name from, (Yellow 13) A good natured fighter pilot who never lost a wing-man and was one of the best in the world at the time. The super-weapons used against your player are also really powerful and you get a genuine sense of urgency when you have to go up against them (at least in 04). Your wingmen are also very helpful and friendly people that actually follow you and help with the missions. the enemy ace battles are also very hard most of the time and if you're not careful they can give you a run for your money. The music is also excellent, among some of my favorite tunes ever. so why isn't this higher in the list?

well... 1), the games are kinda repetitive. seriously, you got your superweapon, kill it, obligatory ace squadron you gotta kill, liberate some city, do some landing operation, then pwn a superweapon at the end of the game by flying in this tiny little space and blowing it up from the inside. kinda boring really, but it's still fun.

4) Tomb Raider

Why: well it's just an all around good game series. not fantastic but it embraces technology and magic in a really good way. and the series reboot is both good and bad. the end of the first series left us on a cliffhanger. but it's also good because it gets new people into the series easily and quickly. The game also makes good use of the locals. you go EVERYWHERE in that series. Egypt, Greece, Cambodia, South Pacific, Nevada (Including Area 51), India, China, Antarctica, London, Brazil, Tibet, all the way to the NORSE FREKIN UNDERWORLD AND ATLANTIS. (I CAN'T MAKE THIS STUFF UP PEOPLE!)

so why is it not higher? Well the music is kinda bland. also the plots typically revolve around 'find this magical thingy for fun/profit/???/etc. Granted, Lara can kick ass any day of the week, but still. they might want to add in some variety soon. maybe against some techno dude instead of magic for a change. it still ears its place because it's a very good game series.

5) Splinter Cell Chaos Theory

Why: Splinter Cell is more realistic then Metal Gear. Sam actually can carry a normal amount of weapons and enemies can actually kill you REALLY easily. fortunately, the AI is still kinda weak but they make up for it with firepower and the fact that you're limited to ammo and weapons so you have to make your shots count. Also, the enemies react to sound much more readily then the ones in MGS. The characters are also kind of throwaway. you don't have a codec so you can talk to them any time and the lack of any real boss fights also kinda lags. while it makes sense, it's still not as good.

Now, why did i choose this one over all the other games in the series? well, i only have two SC games that I've completed. Double Agent just added an unnecessary thing to the mix. i preferred just Sam with NSA. Also, the music and the humor in this game is kinda... meh. there's one or two moments for each but aside from those, it relies on the rush you get from sneaking up on people and taking them from behind. Still, it's a good game and worth it and earns a solid #5 on my list.

I recently stumbled across a blog called Sam Fisher's Blog and in one of the entries, this is what it was.

Sam Fisher on Metal Gear
A while back, I mentioned that I've been trying out the Metal Gear Solid games, just to get a taste of the competition. As I've said before, most of my experience with video games has been through military training simulators, which offer all the interactivity of a video game, with none of the fun. So I'm no expert game reviewer, but I'll give you my thoughts.

Let me start off by saying this -- in all my years of covert operations, I've never encountered robotic ninjas or rollerskating fat guys. I've never dealt with vampires or enemies telling me to do things with my controller, either. This is just ridiculous stuff here.

It's bad enough that your enemies are straight out of the comic books, but then there's the silly names. No self-respecting bad guy is going to call themselves names like Howitzer Platypus or Bazooka Marmoset. I'd like to meet the Japanese game developer who makes up these names, and make sure all aerosol products are kept out of reach.

And then there's the storyline, which is about as clear and concise as income tax laws. By the end of Metal Gear Solid 2, the only thought I could muster was "huh?" Does anyone understand what's going on with these games?

Now don't get me wrong, Solid Snake seems like a decent guy. He's the kind of guy I could see myself trading war stories over a glass of beer with, were he an actual human being. But he doesn't seem to be the sharpest tool in the shed. I mean, every time he goes on a mission, he ends up fighting a Metal Gear. And then he starts this whole "I can't believe it's another Metal Gear I thought I destroyed it ohmygodno" routine. Of course it's another Metal Gear... that's the way your enemies work, man. If you haven't caught on by now, it's time to ask your superiors to pack a bit of clue in your field gear.

Enough ranting, though. The Metal Gear Solid games are actually pretty fun, and made me think about what my job would be like if the laws of physics and reality didn't apply. If you want to play realistic stealth games, stick with Splinter Cell. But if you're looking for a stealth cartoon, Metal Gear is for you.
